Emma Parkes joins the LEGASEA Mentorship Programme, a unique scheme providing valuable support to existing and aspiring yacht crew.
Emma Parkes, who runs our specialised investment service for Yacht Crew, has recently been selected to be a mentor in a unique programme for existing and aspiring yacht crew.
The scheme as a whole is designed to remove the luck of the draw for members concerning career paths, progression, and opportunities. It offers access to mentors of all genders, ashore and at sea, who are dedicated to seeing candidates succeed. It allows candidates to connect with the organisations and individuals around the world who are committed to a high performance, competency focused yachting industry.
The role of Emma and Church House in the programme is to provide professional guidance on investing for the future and how it can help achieve financial aspirations from property purchase to early retirement. Emma said "I am delighted to have been selected to be a part of such an exciting initiative in the Yachting industry. I believe our position as long-established wealth managers, combined with my appreciation of the needs of those working in the industry, means I can add real value as a mentor. I am really looking forward to talking to members and making a positive difference in their careers."
Jenny Mathews and her team at She of the Sea are the creators of this amazing programme, which is delivered online over a period of six months. The scheme has been developed for career-focused deck and engineering crew, crew interested in transferring ashore, and interior crew looking to transfer to deck and engineering departments. Jenny commented "When selecting our mentors we are seeking to include those who have a real passion for the industry. In Emma, we found someone who exactly fitted the bill and who could also deliver the professional expertise our members are asking us for."
