Son of Church House Client Director, James Edgedale, participates in Blackmore and Sparkford Vale Point to Point.

Thankfully, there was a break in the consistent winter rain showers for this year’s Blackmore and Sparkford Vale Point-to-Point. This event, for which the turnout is always strong, took place on Sunday, March 3rd and was held in the scenic traditional Somerset village of Charlton Horethorne.

On this occasion, the Church House involvement extended beyond our usual sponsorship as George Edgedale, son of our Client Director James, took part riding Kilpin.

John and Sonia Gardener from the Four Burrow Hunt in Cornwall were this year’s winners of the Church House Investments Restricted Race and were duly presented with the Perpetual Challenge Trophy by Alice Johnsen, wife of James Johnsen, one of Church House's founders.

James Johnsen said:

“It was another fantastic day of racing, and all those present were very grateful to see some blue sky. Congratulations to everyone who took part and, of course, to the worthy winners of our sponsored race.”

Last month, we started supporting the Point-to-Point season by sponsoring the Countryside Alliance event held at Bradbury Rings, one of Dorset's finest Iron Age hillforts.

A third event that we are helping, run by the Cattistock Hunt, takes place in the quintessential Dorset village of Chilfrome and is now just a couple of weeks away. Hopefully, they, too, will benefit from relief from the rain and some welcome sunshine.
