Investment advice part of valuable new service for yacht crew
Following a successful pilot last year, three key players in the yacht industry, LEGASEA, Burgess and Quay Crew, have joined forces to deliver an industry first. The LEGASEA Mentorship Programme welcomes people from all roles across the sector. The next generation of talent will be matched with key industry mentors, and they will benefit from regular one-to-one sessions as well as community learning, peer-to-peer networking and exclusive industry discounts.
Emma Parkes, who heads the Church House Yacht Crew Investment service, was involved in the initial pilot and is delighted to be a part of the full rollout.
"I am very proud to be involved with an initiative that supports the next generation in this fantastic industry. By helping them to understand the world of finance and investing whilst also providing some practical advice, I hope to have a positive impact on their long-term futures."
Collaboration is a crucial feature of the programme, providing participants with access to mentors with a broad range of skill sets and experience. Founder of LEGASEA and She of the Sea, Jenny Matthews, commented:
“The overall purpose of this platform is to remove the luck of the draw for career-focused yachting professionals, providing access to opportunities, knowledge and networking, and to create that circular knowledge economy that benefits all members, professionally and personally.
We really value the collaborative aspects of partnership and only want to work with organisations that hold aligned principles and provide real value to our members professionally and personally."
