Church House Trust Plc, the Yeovil-based private bank and fund manager, announces the arrival of The Cayzer Trust Company Ltd. onto its shareholder register. Under an agreed deal, Cayzer Trust has bought just under 15% of the enlarged equity in Church House for an undisclosed sum.
Cayzer Trust is to take one seat on the board. As Dominic Gibbs, Chief Operating Officer of Cayzer Trust explains: “I am delighted to join the Church House board. Cayzer Trust welcomes the opportunity to make this investment which it views as a natural expansion of the Cayzer family’s investment activities”.
Cayzer Trust have made this investment in conjunction with private investors Andrew Martin Smith and Tim Guinness, both of whom have long experience in financial services and are supportive of the Church House’s growth plans in the wealth management industry. Andrew Martin Smith will also be joining the Board of Church House.
In addition, Michael Baines, a non-executive Director of Church House and formerly a Director of Robert Fleming and Co., joins the board of the investment management subsidiary, Church House Investments Ltd., as Chairman.
Church House, which has offices in London and Leeds, specialises in looking after UK onshore private individuals and family groups, including their trusts, pension funds and charitable foundations.
The Cayzer Trust Co. Ltd. is the private holding company of the Cayzer family which consolidates the bulk of its 45% holding in Caledonia Plc, the FTSE 250 investment trust. Caledonia. Over the years, it has built up strategic holdings in a range of financial services companies such as Close Brothers, Rathbone’s, British Empire Securities, Polar Capital, Eddington and India Capital Growth fund among others.
